10 years of Slovenian Art Cinema Association
4 March 2020 was a special day for all the members of the Slovenian Art Cinema Association: it was the day that kicked off the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the association. Representatives of most of the member cinemas have gathered in Kinodvor for an evening of looking back on accomplishments and mapping next steps in the future.

The Swallows of Kabul at the European Cinema Night 2019
On 4 December 2019 Kinodvor has joined the European Cinema Night for the second time with the free screening of the animated feature by the directors Zabou Breitman and Éléa Gobbé-Mévellec.

Kinodvor wins 2019 Europa Cinemas Programming Award
At the 21st Europa Cinemas network conference, which ran from 21 to 24 November 2019 in Lisbon, Kinodvor won the prestigious Europa Cinemas Award for Best Programming 2019. We are very pleased to have been recognised internationally for our quality and innovation, features that make Kinodvor one of the best cinemas in Europe, especially as we look forward to the construction of a new Ljubljana city miniplex.

Kinodvor has a new director
On 20 April 2019, Metka Dariš will begin her five-year term as Kinodvor’s new director. She will be taking over from Nina Peče Grilc, who has been running the public institution since the Ljubljana municipality took over Kinodvor in 2008. After two successful terms Nina Peče Grilc has decided to pursue new professional challenges.

Cult Film Conference 2019
Cinema has a long history of looking at the outsider, at those who might be considered different from the norm. The talks will examine very different aspects of that dynamic and, in one way or another, deal with the idea of those at the margins, on the outside looking in. The Cult Film Conference is presented in collaboration with Northumbria University (Newcastle, UK). Lectures will be conducted in English. Free admission on Friday, April 12th from 2pm!

European Cinema Night 2018
Ljubljana was one of the 34 cities across Europe taking part in the first European Cinema Night. On 5 December 2018 the free screening of the animated feature Samouni Road was offered in Kinodvor during the International Animated Film Festival Animateka.
