Barbara Kelbl presented Kinodvor’s experience in one of the two education online events exploring how different film educators in Scotland and Europe have responded to some of the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Metka Dariš, director of Kinodvor, was one of the exhibitors that offered practice-based insights at this year’s Sofia Audience Development & Innovation Online Lab.

In March 2021 Kinodvor has joined the Slovenian Art Cinema Association in establishing an online streaming platform.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, 26 and 27 January, the online regional seminar of film education in South Eastern Europe Next Steps in Film Education took place. More than a hundred representatives of key institutions in the broader region sought ways of maintaining the quality and ensuring the accessibility of film education – also in view of the consequences brought about by the pandemic.

We really miss our audience and do not want to end the year without our loyal supporters. On 31 December we will therefore offer two films via the streaming platform Eventive (available in Slovenia only): the Danish Another Round from Thomas Vinterberg and for the children the Swedish Sune – Best Man by Jon Holmberg.

In December, we will begin our cooperation in the international project Film in Hospital, which has received MEDIA support for its continuation. The project’s objective is to provide children and young people being treated in hospitals with access to quality films and film education content by establishing new online platforms.

The 17th edition of the international animated film festival Animateka will be held from 30 November to 9 December exclusively online. It will offer a diversity of programmes consisting of more than 300 films, most of them available all over the world. Tickets go on sale on 25 November.

Kinodvor has joined the initiative of the Creative Europe and Europa Cinemas for the third time in celebrating the richness of the European film culture.
