When seamstress Ana places a cake on the kitchen table, her adolescent daughter Ivana just shakes her head and turns away. Her husband Jovan also wants her to drop the subject. With this gesture, Ana celebrates the birthday of her son who, according to the hospital, died immediately after he was born. He would be 18 years old now. With obsession and perseverance, she is fighting one last time against the police, the bureaucracy and even her own family, in order to uncover the truth.

Miroslav Terzić
Born in Belgrade in former Yugoslavia in 1969, he studied international law at the city’s university before taking a postgraduate degree in its Faculty of Dramatic Arts. His debut feature film, Redemption Street, premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival. He also works as a director for major marketing agencies.

Shuji is a young filmmaker and devoted cinephile. He organises impromptu screenings of classic films on the roof of his apartment block and protests against multiplexes and the industry that is destroying the art of film on the streets of Tokyo. One day, he learns that his brother, who had helped finance his films, has been beaten to death by the Yakuza over unpaid debts. Shuji resolves to repay the debt by working as a human punching bag in the bathroom of the club where his brother was killed.
