When her brother falls into a mysterious sleep after being threatened with deportation from France, 11-year-old refugee Chaya ventures into his dream world in an attempt to bring him back.

A family of three refugees settles in a small village by the ocean in southwestern France, hoping to build a new life. When they learn that they are facing eviction and may lose their asylum status, 11-year-old Chaya is devastated. Her older brother Nour has drifted into a deep and mysterious slumber, diagnosed as a rare psychological disorder – “resignation syndrome” – brought on by extreme stress. With their father mostly away working and trying to resolve the situation, Chaya decides to help her brother in her own way, even crossing into his dreams to find him.

“The Green Eyes is an adventure, a story of resilience told from a child's perspective and set against the backdrop of a turbulent world in which they are trying to find their place.” (Fanny Liatard, Jérémy Trouilh)
