Laura Citarella / Argentina, Germany / 2022 / 128 min / Spanish

A story in two parts about an Argentine botanist gone missing. As the two men who felt they knew her best seek out clues to her whereabouts, mysterious events from the past intertwine with the eternal quest for one’s true self.

cast Laura Paredes (Laura), Ezequiel Pierri (Ezequiel 'Chicho'), Rafael Spregelburd (Rafael), Cecilia Rainero (Normita), Julianna Muras (Juliana), Elisa Carricajo (Elisa Esperanza), Verónica Llinás (Romina)

festivals, awards Venice 2022, San Sebastian 2022

Laura, an academic and botanist, has vanished. As two men in love with her haplessly search for clues, the mystery only deepens. The second chapter starts to illuminate the circumstances behind Laura’s disappearance, only to unwrap an entirely new puzzle: this time about two lesbian lovers in the suburbs who seem to be conducting a scientific experiment, secretly raising a mutant creature. Frankenstein comes to mind here and also as a metaphor for the film’s patchwork structure.
