A screen adaptation of a short story by Haruki Murakami, Burning is director Lee-Chang dong’s tribute to the literary legacy of William Faulkner and one of this year’s most critically lauded films.


When he makes a delivery on a busy Seoul street,  Lee Jong-su runs into Haemi, a young woman who once lived in his neighbourhood. She dreams of travelling to Africa, and when she does so, Jong-su  dutifully looks after her cat. Upon her return, Haemi introduces Jonsu to Ben, an enigmatic young man who she has met on her travel, and one day, Ben confides in Jongsu his rather unorthodox hobby...Based on a short story by Haruki Murakami.
