Thrill-seekers Heather and Greg join the eccentric marine guide Tucker for a “shark experience”. At first, Tucker charms the duo, explaining that he was attacked by sharks as a child, an experience that marked him indelibly. A cage dive into infested waters is the first part of their “wild excursion,” but certainly not their last. Enter: Zephyr, a tough surfer with a tragic past. Trapped with only Heather to keep her company, the resourceful Zephyr will stop at nothing to escape Tucker’s evil clutches.

"There’ve been a lot of shark films recently where there are sharks in the water, they’re sleek, and they have human reactions. I wanted to get away from that and present sharks with scars, with imperfections that define their personalities. I knew from the outset what type of shark film I wanted to make, how I wanted them to be represented, and it’s something that I hadn’t seen on screen before: humanizing the sharks, in a different way."
