Soon after police officer Stéphane joins the criminal unit in the Paris suburb of Montfermeil, he realises that he has found himself in a very difficult situation. His new colleagues Chris and Gwada are very familiar with the local scene and have learnt to handle it in their own unique way. When something goes terribly wrong during an intervention, the accident is captured by a drone and the police officers are caught in a panic.

The film, inspired by the riots that shook France in 2005, offers an inside view of the raging, bubbling inferno of Montfermeil. Les Misérables won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and an Academy Award nomination for Best International Feature Film.
