Croatian director Igor Jelinović's debut feature centres on a battle between two middle-aged sisters over the ownership of a holiday home on the Croatian island of Hvar.

Tonina, a caring and self-assured accountant, runs a successful business with her husband and daughter while keeping the family's logistics running smoothly. Alongside her many responsibilities, she also cares for her bedridden mother, who has dementia. Her younger sister, Tajana, and her family take a far more easy-going and less ambitious approach to life. The sisters come into conflict when Tonina secretly buys her cousin Željka's share of the family home on the island, despite their agreement to purchase it together. A year later, they attempt to reconcile at their mother's birthday celebration, but long-simmering tensions soon resurface.

"A return to Dalmatia is obviously inevitable for most of us who grew up there. Dalmatia in the film Koke may not even exist anymore, even though it is set in the present day, or is it like that in my memories from childhood and early youth. Sometimes it seems magical to me, sometimes disgusting, which is probably why it is so cinematic." (Igor Jelinović)
