Rio de Janeiro, early 1970s. The Paiva family live a full and happy life in a house by the beach. One day, however, everything is turned upside-down when the military junta abducts the father. Director Walter Salles (Central Station, The Motorcycle Diaries) based his heartbreaking film on memoirs written by the son of the seven-member family. 

17-year-old Sam goes on a camping trip with her father and his best friend. The two men josh and joke as they hike, stressing about their careers and cracking dirty jokes. Sam mostly puts up with it – until one of them crosses the line.
