“At Kinodvor, diversity and tolerance are part of the community and foster a sense of belonging. Here, you’ll find boisterous young children, elegant women, homeless people, groups of teenagers, diverse couples – some kissing or chatting, others not – and individuals immersed in books or lost in the letters on their keyboards. Yet with all of them, I felt that they feel at the right place, like at home. This diversity exudes a sense of unity: it is a community with a strong identity.’ It is a form of resistance to the current challenging world, a way of building our individual or collective resilience.”
– Chantal Nicod
Chantal Nicod attended events in Kinodvor, peeked into the projection booth and behind the scenes, recorded the vibe of the visitors, and captured colours and light. This year, she has curated a selection from her extensive collection and self-published a photography book.
To mark the book’s release, a discussion with the author will take place at Kinodvor, during which Chantal Nicod will present her work.
