Shaban, a traditional patriarch, is determined to provide for his family. After losing his source of income following a family dispute, he is forced to relocate them to the Kosovar capital. In Pristina, the pressures are far greater. The city seems anything but ready to welcome newcomers from the countryside with open arms. Shaban is no stranger to hard work, but that alone is not enough. His mother's savings keep the family afloat, while accepting help from a wealthy brother-in-law comes at a price. With his pride steadily eroding and his dignity slipping out of reach, Shaban is pushed ever closer to the edge.
"I wanted to explore the theme of violence because so many things in our society function only because we are threatened with consequences if we fail to do something or do it the wrong way. I believe in the laws of physics: when you apply pressure or violence to people, there is always a reaction. People can endure only a certain amount of injustice." (Visar Morina)
