story
At the beginning of the 19th century, twelve-year-old Georg is left behind at a monastery on the Great St Bernard Pass after war separates him from his brother. There, he rescues a weak St Bernard puppy named Barry, and the two form an extraordinary bond that helps Georg overcome loneliness and hardship. As they take part in mountain rescues, Georg learns about courage, friendship and belonging, discovering that home is not only where we come from, but also where we are welcomed. The film is inspired by the true story of Barry, a St Bernard who reportedly saved more than forty lives from avalanches at the Great St Bernard Pass in the early 19th century.
