She sold over 200 million records, won 7 Grammys and achieved a record-breaking 7 consecutive number ones in the US singles charts. But her sparkling career was soon overshadowed by issues in her personal life, particularly her long battle with substance abuse and a difficult relationship with former husband Bobby Brown. In 2012, the singer’s early death led millions of devoted fans to wonder how such a beautiful and talented individual could lose her future in such tragic circumstances. The director intertwines previously unseen publicity materials, performances, and exclusive interviews with people closest to the artist in a tribute to the voice that inspired the masses.

“A powerful testament to her soaring artistry – and, more than that, a haunting explanation for why she destroyed herself.” - Variety.
