story
When his grandpa is bitten by a snake, Tafiti, a young meerkat, sets off on an adventure to find the magical flower that will cure him. Bristles, a bush pig, wants to prove that adventures are always better with friends and joins him across the desert.

"How did I meet my best friend? Most people can tell wonderful stories about this. Often these are stories from our childhood. We were around six or seven years old when we started to explore the world beyond our parents' home, full of curiosity and an unshakeable belief that we could master any adventure. The dangers that lurked in the world did not frighten us."

"The stories about Tafiti by Julia Boehme, illustrated by Julia Ginsbach, remind me of that time. I like the lightness and optimism in her stories, their endearing humour.
I gladly accept the challenge of bringing this lightness to the big screen. Children want to laugh. Despite all the tension, despite the danger, laughter is so important, especially in these times. And they like to hear stories about friendship and empathise with them."

"The colourful landscapes of Africa, with their vastness and magic, offer great visual opportunities to impress in clear and simple forms and yet never lose focus on our little heroes during their journey. When I took my godchild to the cinema for the first time in her life at the age of six, she said in amazement: ‘It's so big! Amazement is also important.
So Tafiti as a cinema film will certainly differ from the books, but will remain true to its core and charm."
