Juulia is a successful Member of the Parliament with a seemingly perfect marriage with her priest husband Matias. But when Juulia finds out Matias has had a year-long affair with Enni, she collapses. To save her marriage, Juulia invites Enni to be a part of their lives, and they start a polyamorous relationship. While Matias’s lover Enni is thankful for Juulia’s open-mindedness, and ready to explore a new type of relationship, Matias himself is quite anxious about what his conservative parents will think. Also, Matias finds it difficult to accept that now Juulia too has the freedom to fall in love with other people, such as the young and beautiful Miska.

“I don’t think that monogamy is necessarily bad, I am monogamous myself, but I think we can learn a great deal from the polyamorous community. Especially in the way that it makes us question certain ideas such as owning another person’s time or feelings. With regards to practical problems and logistics, I think there are the same problems in a monogamous relationship, especially if there are kids involved. We always face these questions on how to use our own time and be divided between different people’s needs.” (Selma Vilhunen)
