Saint Omer Saint Omer
A French director of Senegalese origin immerses herself in the complex case of a young immigrant accused of infanticide, in order – as she puts it – to talk about the unfathomable emotions of a mother and to give a voice to invisible women. The film won the Grand Jury Prize and the Lion of the Future for Best First Film at the Venice Film Festival.
