Father Mother Sister Brother is a triptych: three stories about the relationships between adult children and their somewhat distant parents. A series of character studies, quiet, observational, and non-judgmental—a comedy, but interwoven with threads of melancholy. Or, in the words of its American indie auteur, “a kind of anti-action film”. Golden Lion Winner at the last Venice Film Festival.

“In appearing to give you nothing, Jim Jarmusch’s almost perversely downplayed trio of short stories winds up giving you almost everything if you can tap into its cool vibrations.”

The naïve and awkward Elvira is preparing for the royal ball, where she will compete with her charming stepsister for the affections of the handsome prince. However, her transformation into a swan has devastating – and repulsive – consequences. This dark, grotesque reimagining of Cinderella earned the Norwegian director the Best Film award at Sitges.

This explicit and raw yet surprisingly tender film challenges our notions of what an ideal relationship should look like. It won the Best Screenplay Award at Cannes.

God Will not Help Bog neće pomoći

Hana Jušić

Monday, 29. 06. 2026 / 18:10 / Main Hall

The second feature film from Hana Jušić (Quit Staring at My Plate) is a darkly poetic neo-Western about a mysterious Chilean woman who brings unrest to a traditional Croatian shepherding community at the beginning of the 20th century. Blending elements of Wuthering Heights, Croatian folklore, and Jane Campion’s The Piano, the film earned its two leading actresses an award at Locarno.
