For years, war veteran Will and his teenage daughter Tom have lived in the wilderness, under the treetops of a national park in Oregon. Will suffers from PTSD and can find his peace only in isolation and far from civilisation. Their close relationship and way of life are put to the test when the social services force them to live an ordinary everyday life in the community and when the maturing Tom begins to be drawn to society. The third fiction feature by Debra Granik, a multi-award-winning director, is a subtle drama about protagonists from the edges of society and, according to the critics, one of the best films of 2018.
