1, 2, 3, Mury the Cat! 1, 2, 3, Maček Muri!

Boris Dolenc, Jernej Žmitek / Slovenia / 2018 / 33 min / Slovene / 3+

In the year 2013 somewhere on the sunny side of the Alps started a new animation series about Mury, a popular literary character. Stories of Mury the Cat, Missy and other inhabitants of the Cat City are very well known to young and old in Slovenia. The story is based on children's book first published in 1975 by renowned poet and writer Kajetan Kovič . Later the poetry was arranged into songs sang by Neca Falk. The book and the songs are still popular and there is no Slovenian child who wouldn't know how to sing a Mury song.

Hana Jušić

Monday, 29. 06. 2026 / 18:10 / Main Hall

The second feature film from Hana Jušić (Quit Staring at My Plate) is a darkly poetic neo-Western about a mysterious Chilean woman who brings unrest to a traditional Croatian shepherding community at the beginning of the 20th century. Blending elements of Wuthering Heights, Croatian folklore, and Jane Campion’s The Piano, the film earned its two leading actresses an award at Locarno.
