Early Bird: Festival At Five
Weekly Festival Film Screenings. Tuesdays at 17:00 (except during film festivals, public holidays and official Summer holidays).

It is an unfortunate fact that countless brilliant films screened at festivals such as LIFFe, the Festival of European and Mediterranean Film, Animateka and the Festival of Documentary Films are never shown again on the big screen. Should audiences miss the opportunity to attend these festival screenings, they are often unable to view these films at the cinema.

In addition to this, films that have a Slovenian distributer attached must often wait months after festival screenings before attaining cinema distribution. Due to a chronic lack of screens available for quality films, the wait can be extended for so long that distribution eventually seems irrelevant.

Early Bird: Five O’Clock Festival has been designed to address this, presenting weekly screenings of festival films not yet in regular distribution every* Tuesday at 17:00. We are delighted to offer audiences who may have missed out on film festival screenings – or who are returning for a second viewing! – the opportunity to watch these fantastic films on the big screen.

Tuesdays at 17:00 (*except during film festivals, public holidays and official Summer holidays).

Summer, 1994. Young Amin returns from Paris to his hometown in the south of France, to spend the holidays with family and friends from his childhood. Meanwhile, his hot-blooded cousin indulges in carnal pleasures. But, as the Arabic saying goes, when it goes for love, the ‘mektoub’ always has the final world.
