To Thy Heart
There’s a candy bubble gum, there’s a swing, so there must be love as well – somewhere. A secular litany and a story of a relationship, resounding through a tower block estate.

The Wooden Prince
A tale of regret and forgiveness.

The Tiniest
My best friend lived across the street. In the same street, in a house just across. He entered his house when we were all going home. When the store was closing. In the summertime, it's at 9 pm. That's the last time I saw him.

Portrait
A slow and surreal video slideshow of nightmarish, grotesque and apparently static characters.

Pupa
What is paradise? Where is it? Who am I? Where is the joy of living? It takes courage to live your own path every day, it takes courage to be yourself. Pupa is a story about that courage. The journey from a safe cocoon, the transformation necessary to find one's own way and one's own self, and the return of the renewed self into the world.

Rainy Days
A Japanese man in his twilight years boards a ferry heading towards an unknown island. The rain falling on the water brings back a memory from his childhood and another from a fleeting encounter. The only similarities: the rain, a woman and Mount Fuji.

Cyclopèdes
Early twentieth century, the time of the first cycle races. Competitors are on the starting line and the kick is given. The cyclists begin the race that will take them across countryside and mountains. We will follow a competitor and experience the race from inside. There will be several incidents, of course, some of which will be drawn from historical facts.

Guests at my Home
This is a little metaphysical etude: there is the object, around which everything unfolds, there are actors, conflicts, but there is no clear outline of events. Let everyone imagine that.
There is only the setting through which everything happens – sand.

Pilots on the Way Home
Having suffered the loss of their plane, three pilots inexplicably find themselves stranded in the middle of the desert. While following the perilous and unpredictable course that will ultimately lead them home, they fall prey to visions and must confront the siren call of their own strange fantasies.

The Hamburg-based director of Palestinian-Syrian descent places the second instalment of his Homeland trilogy on a small, flood-prone island in the Wadden Sea. This melancholic, mood-driven film about exile and the scars it leaves behind features a charismatic performance by the legendary Hanna Schygulla.

Wisdom of Happiness Wisdom of Happiness

With disarming wit, the Dalai Lama reflects on balancing millennia-old Tibetan Buddhist traditions with the contemporary values of our globalised society that now struggles to overcome violence and war while standing on the brink of environmental collapse.

Fiume o morte! Fiume o morte!

Igor Bezinović

Friday, 19. 09. 2025 / 18:00 / Main Hall

On 12 September 1919, a troop of some three hundred soldiers under the leadership of the flamboyant war-loving Italian poet Gabriele D’Annunzio swooped into the Northern-Adriatic port town of Fiume, now Rijeka, wanting to annex the city to Italy. Over the course of the next 16 months, during what is regarded as one of the most bizarre militant sieges of all time his official photography team captured over 10,000 images. A century later, Igor Bezinović orchestrates a direct-action history lesson focused on the siege and its modern-day implications.
