Nelly Ternan is a married mother and respected schoolteacher, but painful memories of a forgone romance continue to haunt her. As a young actress, she had been the great passion and muse of Charles Dickens. But in Victorian society, secrecy was the price they had to pay to not hurt themselves or those close to them.
