The seventh edition will bring six feature-length films for various film tastes of all ages and see the return of Kinotripie – A Short Film Programme. The entire programme has once again been carefully selected by the Kinotrip Film Club team, which this year consists of nine high-school students.

The festival will kick off on Thursday, 20 October, with Atlantide (Atlantide, Yuri Ancarani), which depicts the hypnotic beat of the life of young people in Venice and thus reveals the side of this city we do not see in idyllic postcards. In the evening, the festival will formally open with Olga (Olga; Elie Grappe), which takes place between Ukraine and Switzerland and, from a personal story about dedication to sports, develops into a story about political and social maturation. We are incredibly happy to announce that the Ukrainian actress Anastasiia Budiashkina, who plays the protagonist in this film, will attend the festival and talk with the members of this year’s Kinotrip team after the screening.

Exceptionally topical themes will also pervade the film programme on Friday, 21 October. We will begin the festival day with Into My Name (Nel mio nome, Nicolò Bassetti), a sincere documentary about four friends joined by the exploration, formation and strengthening of their identity as trans persons. We will continue with Sun (Sonne), a daring depiction of growing up in the in-between space of different cultures and a whirlpool of social networks, which brought the young director Kurwdin Ayub the Best First Feature Award at this year’s Berlinale. We will end Friday’s programme with the lively and colourful stories of Kinotripie’s short films.

On Saturday, 22 October, we will start our film walk in the middle of the Australian desert with a unique adventure and a reflection on time and civilisation with Walkabout (Walkabout, Nicolas Roeg) and end the festival happening in the evening with the inspiring story about friendship, competitiveness and rebelliousness in the documentary Rookies (Allons enfants, Thierry Demaizière, Alban Teurlai), a depiction of eight young people who live for and because of dance.

Film guests and accompanying events
In addition to Anastasiia Budiashkina, the festival team members will also talk to interesting guests from Slovenia.
