On Saturday, 30 March, the 4th<\/sup> Kinotrip Film Festival came to a close. In three days, the young watched six feature-length films and one programme of short films. The young audience were most impressed by the documentary Minding the Gap<\/a> (Bing Liu, 2018), which won the Kinotrip Audience Award.<\/p>\n

The 4th<\/sup> Kinotrip International Film Festival, <\/strong>the largest event of Kinodvor\u2019s Kinotrip Film Programme \u2013 By the Youth for the Youth, took place between 28 and 30 March 2019<\/strong>. The diverse film programme was again carefully selected by the young members of the Kinotrip Film Club.<\/p>\n

At ten festival screenings<\/strong>, more than 1,100 visitors<\/strong>, most of them young, travelled across various film worlds.<\/p>\n

They were joined by interesting guests. Via Skype, the young talked with Debra Granik<\/strong>, the director of the opening film Leave No Trace<\/a> (USA, 2018), and Bing Liu<\/strong>, the director of the documentary Minding the Gap<\/a> (USA, 2018), while Hanis Bagashov<\/strong>, the director of the short film Mishko (Macedonia, 2018), visited us in person at Kinodvor. The young talked with him and socialised after the screening of the Kinotripie short film programme<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In addition to the diverse film programme, a variety of accompanying activities<\/strong> also took place. The young Kinotrip Film Club members provided interesting introductions before every screening. \u00a0The exhibition entitled Fanzine of Kinotrip\u2019s Highlights was on view at Kinodvor\u2019s Gallery. The Sharpening the Gaze workshop on film criticism took place throughout the festival. At the closing screening, we saw the premiere of Izgubljeni sendvi\u010d<\/strong> (Lost Sandwich<\/em>), a short film made by the participants of Kinotrip\u2019s pre-festival film workshop under the mentorship of Luka Mar\u010deti\u010d. All this was followed by Kinotrip\u2019s closing party.<\/p>\n

During the 4th<\/sup> Kinotrip Film Festival, Ljubljana was also visited by the representatives of Medienzentrum Parabol from Nurnberg, who, in cooperation with the Ivan Cankar Student Hall of Residence\u00a0 \u2013 KUD Pozitiv Cultural Association and Kinodvor City Cinema, will carry out a youth film exchange this year as part of the preparation activities in the framework of Ljubljana\u2019s candidacy for the 2025 European Capital of Culture, with which Kinodvor is strengthening its international cooperation in the field of young audience development.<\/p>\n
