The songs of Vlado Kreslin are ubiquitous in Slovenia. Achieving cult status not through self-promotion but through his sheer personal charisma and suggestive musical expression, he combines traditional Pannonian melody with a rock 'n' roll rebellious sensibility and his uniquely poetic phrasing. The documentary Poj me pesem follows Kreslin's development as an artist and examines the cultural context within which he has been working in for over 40 years. Miran Zupanič (1961) graduated from AGRFT in Ljubljana, where he teaches film direction. He has directed Slovenian language made-for-television films Operacija Cartier, Radio.doc, Igra s pari, Zmaga ali kako je Maks Bigec zasukal kolo zgodovine as well as feature film Barabe!, which appeared in cinema theatres in 2001. Among his documentary films, Kocbek, pesnik v pogrezu zgodovine and Otroci s Petrička have achieved greatest awareness. He has received various national and international awards for his films, including the award for the Circom Regional Grand Prix Fiction, the Golden Metod Badjura Award, two Viktor Awards for best television documentary program, a Vesna Award for best feature film and the Prešeren Fund Award.
