Based on the book by British actor Peter Turner, Film Stars tells the story of his relationship with legendary (and eccentric) Hollywood actress Gloria Graham in the final years of her life. A sensual femme fatale, she starred alongside legends of the 1950s silver screen such as Humphrey Bogart, Robert Mitchum, Lana Turner and Kirk Douglas, and was awarded an Academy Award in 1952 for her supporting performance in Vincente Minnelli's The Bad and the Beautiful. In 1978, already in her fifties and performing in minor theatrical productions, she met the young Turner in Liverpool.
